Inside the cave there is temple of the 15th century and the foundations of old cells that date back in the 17th-18th century. Sirili it is a particularly fertile village, which produces citrus fruits , has huge vineyards of excellent variety and produces large quantities of olive oil . The brewery is located in Zounaki village, in the municipality of Platanias. Its highly sophisticated industrial facilities, occupy 2000m2, surrounded by orange trees and olive groves.

When History meets art and craft. This excursion is for those who want to discover Crete from Rethymnon without a long way driving in bus. We start from the most important monastery of Crete: The Historical Monastery of Arkadi. After that, we will visit the Museum of Ancient Eleftherna with its historical findings from Homer’s era. Afterward, you will enjoy a guided tour to the pottery workshop “TSIKALARIO", where Mrs Helen will show us the art of pottery. Right after, in a 2 km distance only, you will visit Margarites village where you will have free time for a lunch or a walk. After that, we will visit Melidoni Vilage and explore Melidoni cave at an altitude of 220 meters. You will discover an amazing cave filled full with stalactites and stalagmites, but also full of History. At the end of the tour we will visit a traditional olive oil mill, where you’ll have free time to learn about olive oil production and enjoy a tasting of premium Cretan olive oil.

Reaching the ancient village after pickup, walk through this magnificent place and experience the locals’ hospitality. At dusk, enjoy a traditional feast. Taste delicious dishes with cheese, virgin olive oil, meat, and other products of Cretan soil. Get treated with the wine, listen to the sound of the Cretan Lyra (Greek musical instrument), and take delight in looking at the dancers, dressed in their traditional costumes performing Cretan and Greek folk dances. We set off from Plakias towards the east of the island and first reach Phaistos, the second largest Minoan palace in Crete, where we have time to visit the ruins and learn more about Minoan culture. Afterwards we continue to Mires to visit one of the most beautiful farmers markets in Crete. The market extends over an entire street it is enough time to enjoy some traditional snacks. Just the way you like it. From Mires we continue to the Messara Museum, which opened in 2023. It highlights the uniqueness of an important region over time: from prehistory to the Middle Ages. Only one kilometer away is the last stop of our cultural journey. Gortys, the former capital of the Roman province of Crete. There we visit the impressive archaeological site. From there we make our way back to Plakias.

The whole procedure is completely safe even for young children and no specific knowledge is required on the subject. On the contrary, you will find it particularly educative and interesting! Come with me and I will prove to you that you can prepare the purest and healthiest cleaning product, with your own hands. We will use only Extra Virgin Cretan Olive Oil, produced by my family, and totally safe ingredients. At the end you will take your soaps you will have made with your own hands, that will be ready the next day, as a souvenir to remember this unique experience as you take your shower!
